As mentioned earlier, Hilary Duff headed to Florida for her Blessings in a Backpack charity. She went to the Boca Raton Elementary School, as well as the Grand Avenue Primary Learning Center (photos here). Hilary Duff talked passionately about the need for young people to make a difference and to be more compassionate towards others. The chairman of USA Harvest, which runs Blessings in a Backpack, said he loves Hilary like a daughter and that "her heart will always be bigger than her celebrity."

While in Floriday, Hilary Duff also paired up with Art + Compassion to feed the homeless in downtown West Palm Beach. Hilary encourages other young people to get out there and do something important, to go out and help.

"It’s amazing to see the people that come out two, three times a week, you know, to feed these people, [and] the compassion that they have for them. Instead of turning it down and ignoring the problem, they are just welcoming it and feeding these people and donating their time,"

Nicole Richie looked adorable as she went to traffic school on Wednesday. She had a messy pony, a cute white tank and jeans.

Nicole has about 16 months of the program left.

We all know that Nicole Richie was concerned about her post-baby weight, as any new mother is!

But I love this story about how Joel Madden used the birth of Harlow as an opportunity to be healthier and slim down too!

While DJing in the Hamptons, Joel told friends that he’s lost about pounds since January, according to OK! Magazine.

He’s cut out alcohol, drinking water instead.

Not only is this smart move for Joel to make, it’s also really sweet that he’s matching Nicole’s health- and body-conscious choices.

Nicole’s been looking amazing since giving birth–very happy and healthy!

I’m glad this young family is taking care of themselves.

Joel Madden was bragging about daughter Harlow this weekend to People magazine–this time about her musical tastes.

She “likes The Cure” he told the magazine while DJing in the Hamptons this weekend.

Joel plays Harlow a whole bunch of different types of music, including “a lot of Disney stuff and classical,” he says. “She likes Good Charlotte. And she likes her granddad [Lionel Richie]’s music. She likes old stuff. She’s a Cure fan … She likes The Cure.”

Harlow is an active music listener, too, and is already “dancing.”

“Oh, yeah,” Joel said when asked. “She kicks her legs.”

As for being in the Hamptons, Joel enjoyed it, but was ready to get back to his girls.

“The Hamptons are definitely a good place to hang out for the whole summer,” he said. “But I’m a dad now. I’d be staying if I didn’t have the girls at home. That’s why I’m going home.”

Babytalk, a magazine all about babies and parenting, is planning on presenting Nicole Richie with an award celebrating her as a mother. Nicole will be a recipient of the Golden Pacifier Award.

“Honoring Nicole Richie with a Babytalk Golden Pacifier Award might come as a surprise to some, but we felt that she deserved some recognition for her turnaround since becoming a mom,” editor in chief Lisa Moran told OK Magazine.

Babytalk is impressed with how Nicole has turned her life around since becoming prego with Harlow and feels that Nicole is always putting Harlow and her needs first. They are also impressed with Nicole’s effort with her new children’s charity, the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation.

“She’s grown up a lot since the arrival of little Harlow, and her creation of the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation has demonstrated her efforts to set a good example by shining a spotlight on important issues affecting today’s families,” Lisa adds.

I think Nicole is doing an awesome job as a mom, but find this award thing to be a bit weird. Why celebrate celebrity moms over other moms?

It’s good to know that Paris Hilton has found herself a boyfriend that could make her smile. There’s nothing worse than having a partner that makes you sulk or frustrate the hell out of you all the time!

Paris Hilton says boyfriend Benji Madden “always knows” how to make her smile. The hotel heiress “couldn’t be happier” with the Good Charlotte rocker, and was delighted when he decided to join her on the shoot for her new MTV reality TV show, which follows her search for a new best friend. She said: “Benji and his friends came out to support me on the first two days of shooting. I love how he’s always there for me, he always knows how to make me smile. Life is amazing, couldn’t be happier, excited for what the future holds.”
