With Jennifer Lopez losing the weight so fast after her pregnancy, rumors of body issues were bound to surface. And now one site says Jen was eating 1,000 calories a day in an effort to lose weight. Combine that with her working out for a couple hours a day and she couldn’t understand why she wasn’t losing more weight.

Turns out she had an underactive thyroid. But before her diagnosis, her and Marc Anthony were having tons of arguments about her supposed “obsession” with losing weight and getting fit.

Now, I’m not sure I quite believe this. I think Marc and Jen do talk a lot about her working too much or doing too much. But I doubt it’s one of those “rip the family apart” type of arguments.

Jennifer Lopez will grace the September cover of Easy Living in London, and gave a typically candid interview about love and life.

She says she doesn’t talk about her ex-boyfriends because it’s disprectful to hubby Marc Anthony. Smart girl! Plus, I can’t imagine Marc loves seeing the “Jenny from the Block” or “My Love Don’t Cost a Thing” videos. She also says he doesn’t talk about his ex-girlfriends for the same reason.

Jennifer also says she fired her former manager a few years back because he told her she should diet and look like Heather Locklear. She says, “He was an idiot.”

Sounds like it. Good move on firing him, Jennifer.

Jennifer Lopez looks absolutely gorgeous hot on the October cover of Elle. She also gives an interview where she talks about pregnancy, her hubby, and when she first realized she was going to have a baby.

On being selfish towards the end of her pregancy she said:

“We came off tour and I said ‘I did the superwoman thing, I finished the tour—now I need you to take care of me. I love doing things for you; if I’m not cooking, then I’m picking out a shirt. But this is the first time in my life where I’m just going to be a little bit selfish. I don’t know if I’m going to have kids again, so I want it to be a beautiful experience. I don’t want to have any drama. I want to just be smiling every day.”

Personally, I can’t believe she was on tour as long as she was with being pregnant with twins. That had to be exhausting.

Jennifer also talked about how she first felt a flutter in her belly one day and had a quiet moment of excitement when she realized there was life inside of her. She also had someone take a book of photos of herself as a present for hubby Marc Anthony and a way to remember this special time in her life.

Jennifer Lopez made a huge impact with her song, “If You Had My Love” back in 1999. It was the first single off her first album, and Jennifer and her producers chose the song very carefully.

Now Chante Moore has said that “If You Had My Love” was really her song and that they rewrote it for Jennifer.

According to one source, Chante’s “second single entitled “If I Gave Love” was almost identical to Lopez’s 1999 hit “If You Had My Love” which resulted in Moore’s single being shelved.”

The story goes on to say it all came down because P. Diddy walked in while Chante’s song was being recorded and said that “he wanted it.” They apparently told P. Diddy the song was already written for Chante, but hey, nobody tells P. Diddy he can’t have what he wants! And thus it was rewritten for Jennifer.

Now this isn’t to say, of course, that even if Chante released “If I Gave Love” that it would have been guaranteed as a hit. Part of the success of Jen’s first single really stemmed on the video she did for the song. The video, which was essentially P. Diddy’s idea, really played on the Internet and the idea of a webcam watching Jennifer in her home. Then it switched gears and gave Jen a chance to show off her dance moves, before going back to the original melody.

I do hear similarities in the music in the beginning, but from that point on I think Jen’s song is really very different. What did you think?

(Get it? “Labor” as in giving birth? It’s a play on words.)

Remember that light orange dress that J-Lo wore at the 2004 Golden Globes?

Jennifer actually surprised everyone by showing up at the Golden Globes, because it was just days after she broke up from Ben Affleck. Jennifer took a lot of heat for this dress, but I actually like it. I think it’s very flattering for her figure and really plays up her soft side.

To give you some background, many of the dresses that year were in pastel and also low cut. So Jen was right in style with this dress from Michael Kors.

She also wore Fred Leighton earrings,

and carried a Fendi bag. ~source

Some critics, like this site, labeled Jen the “worst dressed” and said she appeared “lack luster and unflattering.”

Others, like this fashion show on E! with Joan and Melissa Rivers, said the dress seemed to work on the runway but not in person. They also said it looked like a last minute decision. (Which, given the fact that her personal life was in turmoil, could very well have been the case.)

It’s hard to believe it was almost ten years ago that Jennifer Lopez released her first album. She’s come a long way now with lines of perfume, clothing, and of course, a new family.

But in 1999 she was all about her new album, On the 6. The first single from that was “If You Had My Love” and she hit the talk show circuit performing and singing. Here she is on Letterman performing live.

You can tell this is a live performance, because the vocals are really bad! It’s not the best we’ve heard Jen sing. In fact, she even looks like she’s struggling to hear the sound. She adjusted her ear piece several times during the song. She also looked to me like she was holding back from really dancing a lot. You can tell this is one of her first times performing her own music.

Still, she looks beautiful, though, doesn’t she? What a long way she’s come!

Happy Birthday, Jennifer Lopez!

Jen turns 39 today.

In honor of J-Lo’s last year in her thirties, let’s have another giveaway. I’ve heard that Jen is very good about her diet. She shuns alcohol and caffeine, but she does allow herself a little of everything. There’s no food she simply won’t eat. She eats whatever she wants, just less of it if she’s trying to lose weight. One of the things she loves is chocolate.

It’s been a while since we had a giveaway here (at least a week or so! haha). But I have this wonderful DVD of The Wedding Planner that is itching to be given to a J-Lo fan.

In case you’ve never seen it, the premise of the film is that a wedding planner (Jennifer Lopez) can’t seem to meet the right guy. Then she bumps into a hunky doctor (Matthew McConaughey) and they have a great moment. And then, lo and behold she has to plan HIS wedding!

It’s a romantic comedy, and I just love those. They’re always great to have on hand to pop in for a laugh and a lift when you need it. So why not have this movie as part of your personal collection?
