Remember that light orange dress that J-Lo wore at the 2004 Golden Globes?

Jennifer actually surprised everyone by showing up at the Golden Globes, because it was just days after she broke up from Ben Affleck. Jennifer took a lot of heat for this dress, but I actually like it. I think it’s very flattering for her figure and really plays up her soft side.

To give you some background, many of the dresses that year were in pastel and also low cut. So Jen was right in style with this dress from Michael Kors.

She also wore Fred Leighton earrings,

and carried a Fendi bag. ~source

Some critics, like this site, labeled Jen the “worst dressed” and said she appeared “lack luster and unflattering.”

Others, like this fashion show on E! with Joan and Melissa Rivers, said the dress seemed to work on the runway but not in person. They also said it looked like a last minute decision. (Which, given the fact that her personal life was in turmoil, could very well have been the case.)

Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck are expecting baby number two - confirmed by Garner’s former Alias co-star Victor Garber.

The pair have evaded spotlight since having their daughter Violet two years ago and according to all the reports I’ve seen/read or heard, they’re doing a wonderful job of parenting the little Miss V.

Last October, Jennifer hinted that she and Ben were looking at possibly adding another baby to their family and it looks like her plan is taking shape.

Rumors have sparked over recent weeks as the result of her wearing loose fitting tops.

No word yet on when the world can expect another Bennifer baby arrival, but you can bet we’ll be watching the progress for sure.

Rumors are a -buzzing around the webosphere about Jennifer Garner wanting to boot Ben Affleck out of the house. But Ben insists things are just peachy keen. Ben and Jen (Garner, not Lopez) just celebrated their third anniversary and says they’re taking some family time to get away from the spotlight.

Apparently Ben and the Mrs. celebrated the big “3″ with Ben’s buddy, Matt Damon. They cheered, they toasted, they paid the check and left.

What I’m thinking here is that maybe Ben doesn’t KNOW that Jen’s been looking for a new Mr. Right. After all, it’s been her pattern (much like J-Lo, unfortunately) to wind up with a new guy before she ever really breaks up with the last one.

I know Ben and Jen (Lopez, not Garner) are happy with their spouses now, but doesn’t a little tiny part of you still want to see them together?

The one thing about Jennifer Lopez living out her mistakes in front of the world, is that you’d think other celebs would learn them, too. The instance I’m thinking of here is putting your current love interest in a music video, ala the Ben Affleck addition to “Jenny from the Block.” When Jen and Ben broke up (and despite how great they looked as a couple, we always kinda knew they would) the video became an embarassment for both of them.

Then again, some celebs need to make their own mistakes to really get the lesson. This must be the case with Jessica Simpson, who is considering putting her boyfriend Tony Romo in her new video for the song “Come on Over.”

See, Jessica is about to release a country album, and wants her on again/off again man, Dallas Cowboy’s Quarterback Tony Romo, to star in the video for her first single. She thinks “it would be fun.”

Hasn’t she heard Ben Affleck these days? All he does is complain about that video.

Are you getting the same vibe I am? That one day soon in the not too distant future we’ll see Tony Romo moaning about the fact that Jessica Simpson almost ruined his career?

J-Lo Claim to Fame: First Marriage (Feb. 22, 1997 - Jan. 1998)

Jennifer met Ojani when he was a waiter in a Miami restaurant. He proposed to her during the wrap party after the filming of Selena in front of a whole bunch of people. What else could she do but accept? The marriage didn’t even last a year, and it appears that Jen tried to remain friends with him and even made him the manager of her restaurant, Madre’s. He didn’t last quite six months at that job and was fired. Then he tried to write a tell-all book about Jen, including details of their sex life and marriage. (Quite the prince, no?) J-Lo took him to court and won, and the tell-all went bye-bye.

J-Lo Claim to Fame: Rapper, Lover and Professional Influence

Sean Combs noticed J-Lo around Hollywood and thought she’d made a great queen in his latest music video. She did. Here’s the long version of the video, but if you click to the end you can see J-Lo and P. Diddy dancing. Very hot.

They soon hit it off and dated for over two years. They had tons in common, including ambition, goals and talent. They were really a great pair, except that Diddy has said he doesn’t want to get married and we all know by now that Jen always wanted a husband and family.

Besides that, things got ugly when Jen and Diddy were in a nightclub in December 1999. There was a gunfight that broke out Diddy’s group and another in the club. Jennifer was charged with gun posession after the fight, and even though the charges were dropped it put a huge strain on the relationship. Jen has also aluded to the fact that Diddy cheated on her. They broke up in early 2000.

J-Lo Claim to Fame: Backup Dancer and Second Husband

Jen was hurting after her breakup with Diddy. And Cris Judd was a nice guy and talented dancer who she met on the set of “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” This was a rebound relationship if ever there was one. They married in a quickie ceremony in September 2001, but was over less than a year later. Jen started dating Ben Affleck and filed for divorce which became official in January, 2003.

J-Lo Claim to Fame: Part of the Disasterous Bennifer

The big pink ring, the big name, the big hoopla. Everything about the relationship between Ben and Jen was big. Too big. He’s since said that he regretted doing the Jenny From the Block video but not doing Gigli. Like most things that start out fast it burned out fast, too. They were engaged, set a date, but then Ben started going to strip clubs and… no more Bennifer.

Ever hear the phrase, “Right person, right time?” This is the case with Jen and Marc. They dated for a brief time in the 90s. Years later, she broke off her engagement to Ben and he was separated for the second time from Dayanara Torres. They started dating and have been happily together ever since. And now, they have a family!

Writer Roger Friedman gave a review for Fox of the Sex in the City movie and came away with an interesting comparison between Mr. Big and Carrie and Bennifer.

Bennifer. That big, bloated, mess of a relationship/public relations nightmare that happened a few years ago between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Namely, the wedding that occured (or didn’t) between the two.

Regarding Sex in the City, Friedman said:

“It is fair to say, then, that their big wedding at the New York Public Library is cancelled. Big leaves Carrie at the altar. This occurs about halfway through the film. It seems based on Bennifer — I mean Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s — cancelled nuptials of just a few years ago.”

Ouch. The movie comes out across the country on May 30th, and even with this knowledge I will probably go see it. Who could resist?

On the plus side, if we really are to compare Big and Carrie’s relationship to that of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, they both DID live happily ever after. After Bennifer, that is. So maybe the answer for Carrie and Big is to each find their true love, get married, and have babies. Two, in the case of Carrie.

In other words, as long as Big and Carrie don’t make a crappy movie together that no one can pronouce, I think they’ll be okay.
