b5media’s Entertainment and Business Channels are participating in “The Great Blog Off.” I write a blog on the Entertainment Channel (Daytime Talk) and have chosen to write 24 posts (one post an hour) on that site for charity. Click here for more details.

I opted to put up “great moments” from the talk shows and I couldn’t leave out Beyoncé’s performance of “Ring the Alarm.” It was so excellent and so much more energized than the musical acts they typically get on those morning shows. I loved seeing it again so much that I am putting it up here too. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

It’s a Saturday and there is basically no Beyonce news but I did find this video collection of some cool pictures of her.  There is a funky set of them towards the end where she’s in a yellow dress that I hadn’t seen before (do you know what it’s from?).  There’s also some huge dresses!  Check it out and have a great weekend!

Slow times for Beyoncé news so I thought I would take the opportunity to look at a past fashion moment.  So, here is a picture of Bey at the 2007 Movies Rock celebration back in December.  What do you think of this green dress?!?!  I’m sorry but I think it’s not very flattering.  I hate the color, I hate the cut and the fabric (again, sorry).  I love that she is a voluptuous woman but this dress just doesn’t even look comfortable!

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z were spotted leaving Bar Pitti in New York City on Friday. The couple was having lunch on the warm summer day. Beyonce sported an all-white outfit consisting of high waisted flared trousers and a tank top.

Beyonce ranked #4 on Forbes list of 100 most powerful celebrities, compiled on the basis of their income and media profile. Jay-Z came in at #7. What a couple!!

Jay-Z may have to change his song’s title to “88 Problems” since he’s being sued for $88 million dollars!  What did he do???  He allegedly stole someone’s whisper!

New York rapper, Mitchell Rose, is suing Jay amidst claims that Jigga stole his “whisper rapping” style.  Apparently, he gave Jay a “CD containing his lyrics on May 13, 2001, during a Felix Trinidad fight at Madison Square Garden.”  At least the lawsuit becomes more credible at this point since Rose alleges that Jay “stole lyrics which resulted in copyright infringement by using selected parts of material.”

The money is to compensate Rose for “loss opportunity and punitive damages for mental distress.”  Uh huh…

I’m sorry but I think this lawsuit is weak.  We’ll see what the judge has to say.  Maybe I’m missing something…

Beyoncé Knowles and her new husband, Jay-Z, have made Forbes’ 2008 list of the “World’s Most Powerful Celebrities.”  The list is determined by earnings, internet presence, press clippings, magazine covers and mentions on TV and radio. 

Oprah Winfrey made the top of the list, Beyoncé came in fourth place and Jay-Z placed seventh.  Can you imagine not only being on this list but also having your husband among the Top 10 as well?

Solange Knowles, younger sister of Beyoncé, may have broken her foot but, I’m guessing that her philosophy is that the “show must go on.”  Apparently, she was making her way to the stage when a piece of metal fell onto her foot.  Rather than tend to the pain right away, Solange gave her fans the show they came for and then was immediately rushed to the hospital where she learned that her foot was, indeed, broken.  She has no plans to halt her tour.

What a trooper!  I know that I probably would have fallen apart over that.  It must have hurt so bad.  I guess they are tough in that family - when Bey fell down those stairs, she just got right up and kept on dancing!

  People is reporting that Snoop Dogg gave some “special” advice to newlyweds Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z. What was his advice? Making babies, of course!

Snoop Doggy Dog, who has three kids and has been married for a decade said, “I told them to go home and make babies. They should. That’s the next step as far as marriage, having kids … add on to the family, so hopefully that’s what they’ll do.”

Cordozar Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus Jr. also said the keys to a lasting marriage are, “Communication, and being able to fight and get back up. To have misunderstanding and [then] get some understanding.”

Well, everything seems to be working out for Snoop and his family. Do you think our girl, Bey, and Jay-Z should work towards having kids?

Prepare yourselves before you watch this video - there’s bad hair, bad make-up, bad use of contact lenses, bad lyrics, bad moves and horrible graffiti.  Beyoncé is barely recognizable!  Still, the song isn’t so bad as a remix, especially when you consider it’s from 2001 when Missy Elliot re-emerged on the scene after having lost a ton of weight and released “Work It.” 

I prefer the original but it’s worth a listen:
