Just a day away from launching her huge Circus tour starting in New Orleans, it’s also been announced that Britney Spears is a Candies girl!

Britney Spears has been announced as the new face for Candies, specifically of a clothing line for girls. The photo above and below are from a photoshoot for the company - she looks amazing!

Meanwhile, everything is getting set up for her first performance tomorrow, check out the big promo picture in New Orleans:

I wonder if Britney is nervous - although she’s done a lot of performances since her album was released in December, this is her first big tour in years. I know I’d be freaking out! On behalf of Britney Groupie I wish Britney all the best for her shows!

Mischa Barton’s handbags, as shown here, will be available in John Lewis, Fenwick and Debenhams stores starting on July 2nd. The bags, priced £25 to £170, come in 30 different designs, all designed by Mischa.

Mischa says the purses were something small, to test the waters. That she gets offered things all the time - a fragrance or clothing line. This project, despite being for small handbags, will make the line available all over the globe. Mischa says to the Telegraph:

"I didn’t have anybody designing with me. Though that doesn’t mean I won’t - and maybe it would be a good idea if I did." She lets out an endearingly geeky laugh. "All they did was let me know what leather was out there and send me swatches. That kind of thing. There was a lot of sending things back and forth."

The bags are Mischa-works, to be sure. Clutches and shoulder bags, vintage-inspired, Bohemian, in muted earthy colors. Her favorite bag is the Marisa, a brown shoulder bag named after her OC character (although her promo team accidentally put the bag out with one "s" insead of two!).

So, it was worth it! Mischa designed a great line, and I can’t wait to see the rest of them!

The New York Post’s Page Six is claiming that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are currently having so many personal issues that they even take their business meetings separately.

“All meetings for their clothing line, they will not do together,” their source claims. “Something happened between them, and they haven’t worked it out. It’s been going on for a while.”

If this is true, it must be extremely difficult to run a business, especially a creative one, together. But things surely can’t be that bad between the twins. Yes, they are spending lots of time on opposite coasts (MK’s in LA right now, and Ashley’s in New York), but they celebrated their birthday together and appeared to be having a good time at the various concerts they were spotted together at. If MK and Ashley were going to put on appearances about the state of their relationship, why would they do it at Bonaroo?

Academy accolade winning director Woody Allen filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan seeking $10 Million from American Apparel for use of his image without permission. The lawsuit states that the actor and director does not endorse commercial products or services in the United States.

Allen’s image (shown at right courtesy of Frillr.com), appeared on two billboards in New York and Los Angeles for one week in May 2007. Allen appears as a Hasidic Jew, a character from his movie “Annie Hall”. The lawsuit calls the billboards “especially egregious and damaging.”

In a statement, American Apparel defended their use of Allen’s image as “Social Parody” protected by the First Amendment. They also stated “We had no intention of selling garments through the use of Mr. Allen’s image … We will make every effort to resolve this with Mr. Allen in an amicable way.”

In addition to its clothing line, American Apparel, based in Los Angeles is known for its colorful CEO Dov Charney and its political efforts in favor of immigration reform.

Was this “Social Parody”, infringement or just an effort to generate publicity? While we may never know for sure, I predict it will go away quietly with a monetary settlement.

Doesn’t it seem like Jessica Alba has been pregnant forever? haha - It feels like we talk about these celebs and their babies so long before they deliver that they seem to be pregnant for a lot longer than nine months.

Anyways, Jessica has some nice things to say about Jennifer Lopez in an interview with USA Weekend. First she admitted that she had a chandelier just like the one J-Lo has in her nursery. (Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all.)

Then she went on to talk about race and culture’s notion of ideal beauty. Jessica herself is half white, half Hispanic. She said times have changed and the concept of ideal beauty has changed with people like Jennifer Lopez. I’ve always said that one thing I respect about J-Lo is that she isn’t a “typical” Hollywood beauty but she has made us see beauty in a different way. No one can deny she’s hot even though she doesn’t have the size 2 backend and big maracas that everyone else in Hollywood seems to have.

Jessica said, “I think my generation is the last generation that sees color. In this next generation coming up, everybody is mixed. And I think with people like Jennifer Lopez and Halle Berry being out there opening movies and having clothing lines and pushing the idea of ideal beauty, [the ideal isn’t] Christie Brinkley anymore. You don’t have to look like Barbie.”

Rihanna has revealed that she might launch her own underwear collection. The 20-year-old singer wants to launch her own creation of underwear, after the success of her number one single hit summer (07) anthem Umbrella.

“There might be a clothing line on the horizon, maybe underwear,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. It is something, according to the singer, which puts her under pressure to follow in the steps of other Hollywood stars and build her own brand.

However, the Barbados-born star wants to opt for a more seductive line of apparel from her fellow stars. The singer has been lending her name to brands in deals with cosmetics giant Clinique, retailer H+M and Secret deodorant.
