A killer has come forward in the case of the 24-year-old Ingrid Rivera who was murdered at Lil’ Kim’s birthday party on Sunday night.  Barback Syed Rahman confessed to beating the young woman to death after she refused to go on a date with him.  Rivera, who had been kicked out of Times Square karaoke club Spotlight Live for intoxicatedenly trying to use the men’s restroom, was killed with a blunt trauma to the head.  Rahman allegedly snuck Rivera back into the bar.  Words were exchanged and she threatened to turn him in for allowing her back and he hit her on the head.

The saddest part?  Rivera’s mother’s statement:

“My only daughter. I have no more daughter,” the sobbing Ingrid Estrada told the Daily News. “I was a single mother for all my life. I work hard for her.”

How awful.

I’ll admit, I was a little heartbroken when learning that Pink and motocross racing husband, Carey Hart were splitting.

While there may be a little wild child in both of them, I knew there was a softer side lurking deep down.

While making an appearance at the opening of his new Las Vegas club, Wasted Space, in the Hard Rock Hotel Hart commented, “It’s a tough situation to be in but I love her to death.”

It doesn’t sound like he’s jumped right back into the dating scene either.

Hart confesses he still misses his ex. “I miss everything about her,” he says. And in the wake of their split, “I became a workaholic,” says the motocross star. “I work 19 hours a day.”

I do hope they end up getting back together.

The Queen in full regalia of the Most Noble Order of the Garter

On June 16, 2008, Prince William was appointed a Royal Knight of the Garter, in recognition of his position as second in line to the British Throne. William is the 1000th person to receive the honor. Appointments to the order are by the Queen’s personal choice. The full regalia includes a blue garter, sash, robe or mantle and star.

The ceremony was held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, with Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall in attendance. The position recognised his position within the Royal Family as second in line to The British Throne.

Earlier in the day, The Queen had officially presented Prince William in the Throne Room at Windsor Castle, wearing the order’s regalia.

Prince William joins other members of his family in the order: Prince Philip (1947), Prince Charles (1958), Princess Anne (1994), Prince Andrew (2006), Prince Edward (2006).

Two other Knights Companion, Lord Luce and Sir Thomas Dunne, filled the positions left by the deaths of former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath and the conqueror of Mount Everest, Sir Edmund Hillary.

Jessica Alba’s friend and Sin City co-star, Rosario Dawson, was asked over the weekend about her wishes for newly mom Jessica Alba.

Dawson said that she is sure Jessica will be coping well with her new responsibilities. She told People.com: “She’ll be really attentive and really strong and she’ll be a great role model. She’s very smart and I like that about her.

“I don’t know what people think about her on the outside or what their impression is, but Jessica is very strong and a very powerful woman.

“She’ll probably be the disciplinarian more than Cash. I can definitely see that.”

Personally, ever since Tarantino’s Death Wish I really like Dawson. What do you say? hot or not?

Both In touch Weekly and the National Enquirer have stories this week talking about Mary-Kate Olsen returning to her hard partying ways. Both magazines cite the night MK left Foxtail and clearly fell down in front of the cameras as evidence.

Apparently this spiral has been happening since the death of her friend Heath Ledger, an event she refuses to talk about publicly–even to Elle. Also, the allusions in Elle to the fact she and Ashley fight quite a bit, her recent absence from the CFDA Awards and her relationship with hard-partyer Nate Lowman are all cause for concern.

I’ll admit, I’m a bit worried about MK, but only because we haven’t seen much of her at events or even in paparazzi shots. It’s totally possible she’s been keeping a low-profile and working hard on her acting career. What do you think?

Tatum O’Neal is changin’ her tune.  Yesterday, she claimed that she was caught buying crack cocaine because she was “researching a part” but today, she admits that she made a mistake, saying, “I’m still sober!  Just when I was about to change that and wreck my life, the cops came and saved me!  I was saved by the bell, by the guys in the Seventh Precinct.  There’s no excuse for what I did.”

And she kept going, blaming the death of her Scottish terrier three weeks ago for setting her off on her downward spiral.  Despite seeing a psychiatrist, the loss triggered feelings of losing her mother to addiction and reminded her that she was on a “break” from her bond with architect Ron Castellano (who picked her up after court yesterday).

Basically, here’s what went down:  “One day, I’m walking aimlessly. I found myself doing the wrong thing” and bought coke from a panhandling drug addict.  She claims to not even know that it was crack cocaine.  “It was a shock to me, and a huge wakeup call.  I’m eternally grateful, as sort of grim as the situation was, that I didn’t get to do what my disease was telling me to do. I’m still going to get my year on July 10!”

With all the nineties nostalgia in the air, it's no surprise to see the release of Olivier Zahm and Elein Fleiss' "Purple Anthology" (Rizzoli), which can be read as an authoritative guide to turn-of-the-millennium cutting-edge culture (or, as the 16-year-old magazine might put it, to "art, prose, fashion, music, architecture, sex"). The book consists of photos of pages and spreads from old issues, with every year accompanied by a personal essay by a Purple affiliate (Chloë Sevigny, Terry Richardson, et al.), full of anecdotes both blasé and poignant. From 1994, here's Kim Gordon on the death of Kurt Cobain: "Because he was a public figure, the communal mourning was a T-shirt, no matter how exploitative it seemed. The difference, though, is that if you knew the person, then their death is not cool, it's not a cool stance. It's not a cool T-shirt."

We head over to the East End of London, where we meet up with a couple of editors from Pop magazine—a.k.a. the "Pop-ettes." I fall in love with them. They're on their way to Hong Kong to DJ a party. Maybe they'll make an appearance at our after-party in September.… Then I have an appointment with a photographer named Mike from British Vogue, who's taking my pic for a story they're doing for September. He takes my press director, Leslie Rubisch, and I to the Tate Modern. Leslie heads to the airport from there, and I get the tube to Brick Lane to do some vintage shopping. It feels like the Lower East Side, with lots of coolly dressed kids.

Friday, May 23
Today we head to Oxford for the weekend. This is our chance to see the "real" Edon Manor, which is owned by our London host, Davinia Wang. It's amazing (see photo, above—that's me sitting out front) and would be a perfect location for an after-party, hahaha. We end up swimming and watching old movies all day, including one of our favorites, "Death Becomes Her," with Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep. What a classic.

Sunday, May 25
Our last day in London. We drive back to the city and get ready to go to the pool party at Shoreditch House, a private club where the downtown fashion crowd is based. I run into Chris Kane there, as well as Richard Nicoll. Afterward we head over to Hoxton Square, to check out this new party called "Pony Step." It's amazing—New York is going to have to step it up!

OMG you guys. It’s Memorial Day weekend here in the states, and guess what I’m doing? Chores. Yes. While the rest of the free world is off boating and bbqing, I’m stuck cleaning the freaking house because some yayhoos MIGHT be coming to see it. MIGHT. Dammit. Stupid house for sale.
