Have you guys seen the trailer for the movie, “The Longshots?” Well, if you haven’t, you should check it out! Beyoncé’s picture is featured next to a picture of Tyra Banks and is used as a football target.

The movie is based on the true story of Jasmine Plummer who became the first female to play in the Pop Warner football tournament at the age of eleven. The movie is set for release on August 22nd. It looks like a good movie, so maybe I’ll go and see it. What about you guys? Does it seem interesting at all?

Caught this clip from the Chelsea Lately Show with Chelsea Handler, John Caparulo, Giuliana Rancic and Jay Phillips. They were talking about Jessica Simpson so of course I had to tune in to see what they said!

As it turns out, they talked about the booing incident with Jessica’s first country appearance. At first I thought they were going to say that it was wrong to boo her, because Chelsea started off by being very sympathetic. After all, no one likes to be booed!

But then Chelsea caught a quote about Jessica talking about Tony Romo and how she’d written a song for him. This is where I actually agree with Chelsea a bit, because I don’t think Jessica should be hauling out Tony’s name every time she wants to fit in with country music.

Next in this clip, Giuliana talks about the fact that she doesn’t like that Jessica brings up Texas so much either. Again, I have to agree. It’s like she’s trying to force people to accept her into country music by letting them know “how country” she really is. Take a look at this clip:

The thing they don’t mention in this clip is the fact that she did both these things (talked about Tony and Texas) while in the state of Wisconsin. I can’t tell you all how BIG football is in Wisconsin. The Packers have the second largest fan base behind the Steelers. (Larger than even the Cowboys, folks!) So saying something like this in front of a Wisconsin crowd isn’t going to get people on your side. Plus, if you’re playing in Wisconsin, who cares if you’re from Texas? Say that stuff when you’re in Texas performing.

Again, I blame Joe Simpson for these things. As her manager, I think he should have prepared her better, and talked about what types of things she should have said for that audience. Despite what people say about him, he is a very successful manager so the fact that he didn’t do this surprises me.

Bottom line is, Jess has got to prove herself in country music. It can’t be rushed and it probably will take some time.

David Beckham played often and he played well in last night’s MLS All-Star game against West Ham. The All-Stars defeated West Ham 3-2 in what was the first Al-Star game to be played in Canada, and David’s premiere on Canadian soil. While David remained scoreless throughout the game, he had several opportunities that didn’t come through and was key in several other plays.

Below are some pictures of David out on the field. His presence delighted the 20,000 fans who have been waiting for David to finally play BMO Field.

The MLS All-Star game, which was played in Toronto, was last night. The game was great fun for all involved as the MLS All-Star team took on the Premiership team West Ham. There were over 20,000 people in attendance as the All-Stars defeated West Ham 3-2, in a fast-paced, exciting game. The National Post has a great live recap of the entire game, I’d suggest you check it out!

David Beckham updated his blog yesterday, but kept it very professional. He spoke about the Los Angeles Galaxy’s recent win over the San Jose Earthquakes and their upcoming game against the Columbus Crew. There was no mention of the recent launch of his new ad campaign for Armani (and boy, is it yummy!).

The Los Angeles Galaxy put on a very strong performance on June 14 as they defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 3-0 on their home turf. Although David Beckham didn’t score, he played a pivotal role in the win. He assisted the first goal of the game, one that occurred six minutes in. Forward Edson buddle really stepped up his game, scoring all three goals in an amazing hat-trick performance.

It was an important win for the Galaxy and it keeps them atop the Western conference standings.

David Beckham and son Brooklyn were on hand for Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Lakers and the Celtics. The Lakers won the game, 103-98, making the series 3-2 for the Celtics. It’s been an exciting series all around and a great introduction to basketball for the young Beckhams.

David and Brooklyn were really sweet during the entire game, laughing and joking a lot. It must have been a great Father’s Day for David, spending time with his son and seeing his favorite (non-football!) team win a crucial game!

Not everyone thinks Tony Romo’s accomplishment of hitting 84 at Torrey Pines this weekend was a fantabulous event.

Tony golfed with Justin Timberlake, Matt Lauer, and amateur John Atkinson at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.

Why the foursome? Let me give you some background on why these four gents were golfing together in the first place (I mean, it’s not like Tony and Justin are pals. Or that Matt Lauer is hanging out with either one of them in his free time.) The whole thing started like this: Tiger Woods (yep - golf legend Tiger Woods) said last year that he thought no one with a 10 handicapp could break 100 at Torrey Pines because the course is just too difficult.

So three celebs and one amateur decided to prove him wrong. Tony Romo was the only one of the little group that did, shooting 84 with a 2.2 handicap. The rest of the group didn’t do too shabby either. Still, it was Tony’s round that seemed to impress everyone. Like this columnist, who said:

“Quite frankly, I think it is pretty amazing that Tony Romo is this good at two sports.”

But not everyone feels that way. Chris Baldwin over at TravelGolf.com said:

“Tony Romo didn’t do something great by shooting a birdie-less 84. He set golf back nearly 100 years by showing the worst of the game - some self-important gasbag who thinks his every meaningless putt is for the Masters turning golf into an endless crawl. Yeah, great 84. Maybe if you took 16 hours, you could have shaved it down to a 79.”

Baldwin’s beef with the gaga-ness over Tony is that the guy took too long and bragged just a bit too much. I have to agree. If you want to play with the big guys, then do it. Play the courses they play with the same conditions they play under. Which means you can’t belabor your shots to the point of taking seven hours to play a round. And that’s what Tony did.

No wonder the guy can’t make the U.S. Open.

Here’s the thing. Tony is a great golfer, sure. But to the point of hitting it with the big league guys? No way. Except, unlike every other football player who has months and months to practice his game during the year, Tony will not shut up about how great he is. That’d be fine if he really WAS that great. But he isn’t. He’s simply a guy with a lot of time on his hands to play golf, obsess about his old girlfriend, and act like a heel with Jessica Simpson.

Sure, they’re still together. But Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo keep breaking up and making up and you know how that usually goes. Besides that, is it just me or does Tony always seem to have a smug look on his face?

Anyways, we all know that Jessica will be fine if she dumps Tony Romo (or vice versa). And I started thinking about the things she won’t miss about him, either. Here are a few:

1.) Getting booed at Tony Romo’s games.

Jess seemed downright perplexed as to why fans labeled her a jinx. But as any self-respecting football fan will tell you, we don’t like things that distract the quarterback. And Jess was/is a distraction. A pretty one, but still, a distraction. Without Tony, however, she can relax during football season and not have to worry about seeing all those crazy fans make fun of her.

2.) Worrying about being snapped by the paprazzi.

Jess has always loved getting her picture taken, so it must be difficult to constantly spurn the spotlight when it come to Tony. Tony does not like having his picture taken with Jess, and what is THAT all about, anyways? If you’re dating one of the world’s most beautiful women you’d think he’d want to be smiling from ear to ear in every shot. Instead, he keeps his head down or goes a different direction once the paparazzi show up. Without Tony around Jess could smile for the cameras like she was meant to.

3.) Thinking about marriage.

It can be exhausting when your little sister is heading down the aisle and you’re looking at your guy like… hellloooooo. Ring much? And all he’s worried about is telling your pops to back off.

4.) Taking vacations whenever she wants to.

Jess got a lot of flack for luring Tony to Cabo during the playoffs. She didn’t seem to understand the importance of waiting for just a couple weeks more, until football season was over. Waiting…. it’s a concept Jess doesn’t seem to understand. Without Tony she might not have to.

5.) Blue frosting.

Jessica will undoubtedly never touch the stuff again.
