It was announced at the closing of the 2008 Essence Music Festival, that Beyonce Knowles will be headlining at the festival in 2009 to celebrate it’s 15th anniversary. The president of Essence Communications Inc., Michelle Ebanks, and editor of Essence magazine, Angela Burt-Murray, made the announcement at the Louisiana Superdome on Sunday. 

Bey has already attended the festival three times before and even once with Destiny’s Child.  The event will be held on July 3, 4, and 5 of 2009. It should be exciting to see her there again!

Verne Troyer (aka Mini-Me) shows in The Love Guru that he is more than just a ‘one character man’. He is funny, charming (?) and over all he gives Mike Myers a good round for his money.

In a recent interview with the NYDailyNews, Verne opened up about his days on his life on “The Surreal Life,” voice-overs, and most importantly about The Love Guru.

Q: You clearly have a very similar and silly sense of humor to Myers. Are there any jokes you ever object to?
A: Not really. The way I look at it is, it’s a movie. You’ve got to be able to have fun with it and laugh at it. If it were outside the movie, yeah, some of that stuff would be insulting.

Q: Do people in your community ever give you grief for appearing in a film where Myers refers to you as a Keebler elf, or pretends you’re an Oscar statue?
A: Like I said, get over it. I’m sorry; it doesn’t offend me. Why should it offend you?

Q: My favorite scene in “The Love Guru” is where Myers, Alba and others come to your office for a meeting and it’s scaled down to your size, so they’re sitting on tiny couches and their heads scrape the ceiling.
A: We used that set for a lot of interviews I did, with reporters sitting on the small couch while I sat at the desk. When I walk into that room, it’s like stepping into a different world.

Nothing says “I’m now completely washed up” then a former child star Oscar winner being caught with a whole mess of drugs. Tatum O’Neal, best known for her role in…..what? John McEnroe’s former flame? was caught with - get this - two bags of cocaine. Bad Tatum! Bad!

She was released and is going to be sent to rehabilitation center (no kidding, right?). She should have listened to Whitney’s public service announcement:

Crack is wack, baby.

So, is Jessica Alba a milf yet? I am not sure what the rule is but she will sure be within the next 3 weeks and boy what a style she have had this pregnancy. She can seriously give most celebs a lesson….

Page Six is reporting that Ashley Olsen’s friends are worried about her new relationship with National Treasure star Justin Bartha.

“He’s a little bit psycho-y,” a source told the paper. “He’s a really cute, nice guy, but he was always jumping out of the shot when [ex-girlfriend] Lydia Hearst was getting photographed.”

It’s this very reason that pals think this new relationship is worrisome.

“It’s a little strange that he would go after a girl [Olsen] who is always having her photo taken,” the source thinks.

The source also chatted about how intense Bartha’s relationship with Hearst was–and that Ashley may be getting in over her head.

“Lydia broke up with him in August 2007, and at the In Style party during the Oscars in February 2008, Justin went up to her and yelled at her in front of everyone,” said another source. “He was just too intense about her.”

I’m sure this is being blown out of proportion. That being said, Ashley seems like she’s pretty smart when it comes to relationships, so I’m not going to worry.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren got married!  The couple were quietly wed yesterday, on Monday, May 19.  As you know, they’ve been engaged since last December.  We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge!

Rumors are flying that Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are a couple. I actually think this might work, except doesn’t Keanu know that I’m his girlfriend ALREADY? Huh.

Anyway, they are filming a project titled “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee”, which is about this: After her much older husband forces a move to a suburban retirement community, Pippa Lee engages in a period of reflection and finds herself heading toward a quiet nervous breakdown. Nervous breakdowns are always prime fodder for Oscar noms, so I’m guessing that is what Winona is going for here. Apparently, the on-set source is reporting that they spend a lot of time in each other’s trailers and hug a lot. Well, maybe they’re just in a mad crazy competitive game of Parcheesi. Or not. What do you think?
